Profile
Prof. Barış Kocaoğlu is an orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist with a strong background in clinical care, education, and sports team medicine. He completed the 2019 ESSKA-AOSSM Traveling Fellowship, reflecting his commitment to continuing education and international collaboration. From 2008 to 2013 he served as a lecturer in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at Acıbadem University Faculty of Medicine, teaching and mentoring medical students while maintaining clinical duties. He is actively involved in professional and sports medicine organizations, including membership in ESSKA and KSSTA, and participation in the Hip Arthroscopy and Preventive Joint Surgery Association. He is also a member of ELPA (Euroleague Player Association). In national sports medicine, he serves on the Turkish Basketball Federation medical board and is team doctor for the men's national basketball team. His practice focuses on orthopaedic care for athletes, hip arthroscopy, and preventive joint surgery.
